Writing about yourself and putting your photo and life story online can be extremely difficult --guaranteed to make you feel a little self-conscious and silly and downright scared! Well, just think of it as one of the trials you need to complete to get to the holy grail (that's the perfect date, of course, not eternal life). You've got to slay a lot of dragons to get to the princess and kiss a lot of frogs to get to the prince. So, here are some mighty tips for for writing a truly ace profile without breaking a sweat. younger

1. Make A List Of  "Stuff I Like" - If you have total writer's block and every sentence sounds dreadful, take the easy way out and make a list titled 'Stuff I Like'. This start is recommend it as the easiest way to form a snapshot-in-words of unique, wonderful, sexy, dateable you. It's also quite a nice way of making yourself feel good as it reminds you what makes you happy. And hurrah for that.

2. Get a pal or family member to write you a list of random "date" questions. Sounds silly, but everyone from job interview coaches to dating gurus to sports coaches tell us that running practice trials helps to improve performance at crunch time. Think of theserandom  as springboards to help you be as creative and funny as you can be. For example answer the question: What was your childhood nickname? What is your favorite food? What was the most embarrassing thing you ever did? You get the picture.

3. Write a few good sentences about yourself, as if you were filling out a job application for a job you really, really want or a sweepstakes you are determined to win!

Ok, so now we come to the next few points. These points focus on how to say what you say in a natural way for a profile.

Don't Be Negative Why? Because negativity is not sexy. And, although a good angry rant is always enjoyable, it's only funny when it's delivered in the right medium - and an online dating profile isn't that medium. No one wants to date a negative person. Sentences like "I can't believe I'm internet dating..." don't test well. Anyone who is themselves part of the online dating environment, who us reading your profile, will not think you're weird for trying it. They're doing it too, remember?

4. Avoid Cliché - If you describe yourself as someone who likes "is easygoing, likes people, likes going to the movies, and hanging out with (your) friends,"  then frankly, you sound like everyone I've ever met. Including my mother. Make the effort to stand out from the crowd.

5. Don't Share Too Much. Your online dating profile is designed to give the reader an alluring taste of who you are, what you are like, and why you're so special. It's not really the place to unzip your chest, pluck out your heart and soul, and lay them naked and pulsating on the online dating operating table. Don't reveal too much of your thoughts about the horrors of love, the capriciousness of dating, or the dastardly nature of men (or women). Many online profiles have WAY too much information. Keep some stuff for later.

6. Be Yourself... But Better Naturally - Everybody says this, but they say it because it's true. To maximize your online dating pulling power, you've got to write a really top-notch profile that shows you to be a seriously hot property, but naturally. That means being the best possible version of yourself: the well-dressed, funny, impressive, adorable, intelligent, flirtatious, warm, attractive, self-assured, memorable YOU.

So be a flirt. Be coy. Be confident. Be unusual. Smirk, frown questioningly, arch your eyebrow and pout your lip - all through the medium of words, of course, and get that great-looking photo out there. If you do not get great dates, you have only yourself to blame. A fun personal profile and a realistic, but attractive photo of yourself will go a long, long way.

7. Watch the exclamation points!!!! One or two throughout the entire profile is all right, , but more than that makes you sound breathless and overexcited and desperate, and that's not good. The Fonz wouldn't use lots of exclamation marks, for those of you who remember The Fonz.)

8. Watch your spelling. Really. An online profile is not the place to get lazy with your language.

9. Take time with your online photo. Remember unless and until a potential date meets you, you ARE your profile photo. If you are serious about being successful at online dating, then you need to give yourself the best chance possible and put yourself in the best possible visual light.. A great photo is the way to attract the best people and leave your dating days behind you.

Well, we hope this helps. The last tip is to just force yourself to sit down and get the wretched thing over and done with. Thanks for reading!
